Duties:
This BUSU work-study project will involve a student reviewing Canadian Introduction to Psychology textbooks for Indigenous content as well as conducting a literature review on integration of Indigenous content in Psychology courses. As well, the project will involve dialogue with Indigenous Knowledge Keepers, and a liaison role between Brandon U’s Indigenous People’s Centre, Dept of Psychology faculty, and Indigenous students majoring/minoring in Psychology. Tasks will also include other relevant duties, as assigned.
Qualifications/Experience:
Ideal candidates will be upper-level undergraduate students at BU working towards a BSc or BA major in Psychology. Experience working with Indigenous communities, including Knowledge Keepers, Elders, and knowledge of Indigenous perspectives is an asset. Familiarity with Brandon U’s Indigenous People’s Centre is an asset. Ideal candidates will have literature review skills and a strong ability to review and synthesize information in written and verbal formats. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
