Overview
Gallagher Re is seeking an ambitious, analytical broking talent with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in reinsurance, contracts or consulting to join our Philadelphia office. Gallagher Re has grown significantly in the past few years and is looking for dynamic brokers to join the team to help expand and deliver best in class support to our growing roster of accounts. This is a client-facing role in a team environment that involves new business production, product development and servicing existing clients.
How you'll make an impact
In this role you will:
- Act as a key member of the broking team partnering with actuaries and cat modelers to analyze insurance risks on a portfolio level to advise global Property & Casualty clients on reinsurance treaty structures to mitigate downside risk and improve capital efficiency.
- Prepare, transmit, market, and complete reinsurance placements via Bermuda and London.
- Review contractual obligations and wording in German, with a keen eye on translation impacts. You will conduct reviews of complex reinsurance contracts in their language of origin to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the intended meaning and wording of risk transfer and liability
- Ensure company, market and client related documentation is issued (internally and externally) accurately and on time.
- Coordinate internal resources, such as analytics, contracts and client services to provide solutions to clients.
- Conducts in depth risk analyses and presents findings to internal teams and clients
- Meet with senior managers of client companies to present materials.
- Be a thought Leader: Conduct research on industry topics and develop content to be shared with Clients and Prospects, published in journals and/or presented at conferences and tradeshows.
- Each member of our Broking team will join at least one Product Vertical or Segment (i.e. Property, Casualty, Professional Liability, Surety, etc.) participating in the development of our global production strategy
- Align with external and internal regulatory and statutory policies, procedures and regulations.
Supervisory responsibilities
About you
- Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university.
- 3 or more years of work experience in Property and Casualty insurance, reinsurance, contracts or consulting.
- Understanding of the business cultures of the Bermuda, Caribbean, and London Markets. Adept at conducting business in languages other than English.
- Experience giving presentations to clients and internal groups.
- Language Skill: German
- ARe Designation and Insurance License
- Team player and ability to problem solve
- Desire to build relationships with global reinsurers
- Comprehension of:
- Core client services practices and procedures
- Contracts practices and procedures
- Legal and Regulatory environments of the Insurance sector
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Solid ability to communicate in written and verbal form with clients, prospects, and reinsurers
- Skill to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
