Reporting to the Human Resources Manager this exciting opportunity is responsible to provide support and deliver full cycle recruiting and onboarding services throughout the organization. Through effectively and efficiently managing priorities, the Recruiter is a key contributor to the achievement of the department’s strategic plan and operational deliverables. Key Responsibilities:
- Assists with the development and delivery of recruitment strategies and processes to align with the department and business operational objectives.
- Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and requirements.
- Understand position requirements, including site/location information, equipment and position specifics and apply that knowledge to candidate review.
- Develops a talent pipeline and innovative sourcing strategies using multiple resources including internet, direct sourcing, social and professional networking, educational institutes, affiliated associations, and phone screens to source the most suitable candidates.
- Reviewing resumes, pre-screening candidates, preparing short listed candidate summaries when required.
- Sourcing and conducting pre-screen calls to qualified candidates for open positions through appropriate job boards and contacting referrals.
- Perform interviews to assess candidate qualifications. Evaluate candidates during interview based on job requirements, decisively make hiring decisions, and extend job offers.
- Build and maintain relationships with candidates to ensure a positive candidate experience.
- Manage candidate status using manual tracking systems documenting all communications.
- Regularly and proactively communicate recruitment progress with the Human Resources Manager.
- Coordinating and participating in interviews, including preparation of appropriate interview questions, and providing input to selection decisions
- Facilitate background check processes by sending necessary forms to candidates, working with third-party providers, and following up to ensure completion.
- Work closely with the HR Coordinator to ensure candidates are progressing through onboarding requirements.
- Partner with the HR Coordinator to streamline onboarding and orientation process, ensuring quality candidates are hired to reduce turnover.
- Coordinating recruitment campaigns and programs, including job fairs, career fairs, and recruitment related events.
- Identifying and establishing innovative sourcing strategies to create and continually grow candidate pools.
- Standardizing job advertisements and associated media.
- Provides professional recruitment expertise, advice and support to managers and key stakeholders regarding the recruitment program and responds to inquiries and streamlines and communicates recruitment procedures and best practices to hiring managers and support business needs.
- Coordinates and facilitates employee onboarding, creates the personnel file, file documents and assists with the development of job descriptions and job evaluation tools.
- Researches and carries out special projects as assigned.
- Identifies opportunities for process improvement and strives to continually enhance the quality and delivery of services through efficiencies and innovation and prepares reports, presentations and documentation as directed.
Qualifications
- Completion of post-secondary program in Human Resources or Business Administration.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in high volume recruitment, and a strong understanding of full- cycle recruitment processes.
- A Registered Professional Recruiter (RPR) is considered an asset.
- Experience in a unionized environment is preferred.
- Experience with 3PL warehousing is preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication, service delivery, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to create a people source pipeline, deliver presentations and prepare clear and concise reports.
- Excellent organizational skills with a proactive approach and strong problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of tools.
- A valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s license.

The opportunity is located at our 11250 - 189 Street NW, Edmonton, AB T5S 2V6 office. The role is permanent full- time, 40 hours per week scheduled Monday to Friday.
