Job Summary
Overview
The Quality Control Technician is responsible for ensuring that products meet the company’s quality standards and comply with industry regulations. This role involves inspecting, testing, and evaluating materials and products throughout the production process to identify defects or deviations from specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine and non-routine inspections and tests of materials, in-process items, and finished products.
- Measure products using tools such as calipers, micrometers, rulers, and other measuring devices.
- Record inspection and test data accurately in accordance with internal procedures.
- Identify non-conforming materials or products and work with production teams to resolve quality issues.
- Maintain detailed documentation of quality control procedures and results.
- Assist in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action investigations.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and quality regulations (e.g., ISO, FDA, GMP).
- Calibrate testing instruments and equipment to ensure accuracy.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and process efficiency.
- Communicate findings and status updates to supervisors and other departments as needed.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office; experience with ERP/QMS software is a plus).
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Besides the technical skills listed, the individual must be passionate about technology, wanting to make a difference and be dedicated to quality. Proven ability to solve technical problems is also an asset.
