Job Overview:
QA Compliance Lead is responsible for ensuring Site Quality Programs comply with all company policies and procedures and all customer, GFSI and regulatory requirements. Also serves as the SQF Practitioner for their sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish procedures and policies and support their implementation
- Provide training and support on procedures, standards, and policies
- Liaise as necessary regarding QA procedures, standards, policies, inspection coordination and testing requirements
- Partner with to ensure Quality Systems compliance and enhancements
- Plant Lead for third party audits and regulatory visits
- Plant Lead for Customer audits
- Responsible for updating Quality Programs to meet Customer Requirements
- Support Supplier Quality Program
- Follow company’s health and safety program, rules and procedures and work in compliance with health and safety-related legislation and codes
- Report all incidents, injuries, illnesses, and near misses to your supervisor
- Use or wear safety equipment and personal protective equipment required by the company
- Report to supervisor any hazardous or unsafe conditions, absence or defects in equipment and any contravention of health and safety legislation
- Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Quality Assurance, Food Science, Biology, Engineering, Microbiology, Operations Management or a related field
- 3 years of experience in Quality Assurance
- 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance
- Quality Systems development
- Internal auditing skills
- People management skills
- 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance
- Certified Quality Auditor, Professional Quality Designation
- Technical knowledge of quality and food safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
- Technical knowledge of Food Manufacturing processes, Sanitation and Microbiology
- Experience dealing with regulatory agencies (i.e. CFIA, FDA)
- Submitting and implementing corrective/preventive actions plans
- Proficient with Office 365, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with Plant Quality and Operations colleagues
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Able to document findings and data clearly, concisely, and accurately
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Well organized and self-motivated, and able to work well both independently and in cross-functional teams
- Strong knowledge of GFSI, HACCP, Preventive Controls and Quality Systems
- Statistical processes and problem solving techniques
