Purchasing/Production Administrator
Position Summary:
This position is required to process purchase requisitions and sub-contract purchase orders as required to ensure accurate and timely delivery in line with MRP/department schedules while meeting or exceeding cost targets. They will expedite all open orders to ensure on time delivery, provide administrative assistance to the production team in the form of data entry, and document generation to support the manufacturing floor.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Generate RFQs as required, to support the department requirements
- Ensure required materials are purchased and expedited in a timely manner and made available in accordance with schedule
- Issue purchase orders for material and services and follow up accordingly
- Expedite open orders and update PO notes accordingly
- Manage and develop vendor relationships
- Ensure purchasing practices, pricing, material quality and delivery schedules for required materials meet company objectives
- Ensure that procurement activities are conducted in accordance with the Maintenance/Manufacturing Policy Manual, the Quality Assurance Procedures and other company Policies and Procedures
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to maximize efficiency
- Source new vendors as required
- Resolve invoice queries with vendors
- Review historic cost and confirm prices of purchased materials and services
- Generate internal work orders and assist in coordinating their release
- Retrieve technical data and drawings for work order packages
- Generate packing slips and customs documentation
- Coordinate outgoing shipments with internal shipping dept as well as external customs broker
- Assist in maintaining customer account files and update reports
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Minimum High School Diploma
- SCMP/MCIPS Designation or working towards, is considered an asset
- 3 years’ experience in a production or manufacturing control environment and inventory management processes
- 3 years’ purchasing experience, preferably in the aviation industry.
- MS Office – specifically Microsoft Outlook and Excel
- Knowledge and understanding of MRP/ERP systems
- Experience in the aerospace industry or a similar high-precision manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
