Mott MacDonald is currently seeking a highly motivated Project Manager – Urban Transit & Mobility to join our dynamic team located in our Vancouver office. In this position you will be responsible for the project management on urban transit and mobility projects including LRT, BRT, Systems and Systems Integration, Rolling Stock, Transportation buildings and other aspects of integrated urban mobility projects. You will support growth initiatives through establishing and building client relationships in the transportation sector, support the development of junior and intermediate staff, and contribute to Mott MacDonald’s commitment to excellence.


Key responsibilities will include:


  • Planning, organizing, coordinating, and working with technical and management groups in the delivery of a range of transit and urban mobility projects including Systems Engineering and Systems Integration, Rolling Stock and Transit Infrastructure
  • Undertaking project, commercial, and client management such as:
    • Leading and supporting teams of engineers and technicians to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the client's satisfaction
    • Coordinating with clients, stakeholders, and project team members to ensure project goals and objectives are met
    • Coordinating with other engineering disciplines managing project staff and subconsultants to keep projects on budget and schedule and within agreed upon scope
  • Leading and mentoring project team(s) of exemplary professionals focused on transit and urban mobility
  • Supporting the development of proposal responses
  • Being accountable for compliance with internal performance metrics
  • Maintaining industry knowledge of current standards and procedures
  • Undertaking a ‘digital by default’ approach in deliverables
  • Acting as a role model and ambassador for Mott MacDonald, articulating and representing our brand, vision, and value proposition internally and externally
  • Nurturing an innovative, challenging, collaborative and high performing work environment, which supports the use of digital tools and technology and fosters the Mott MacDonald values and culture


We’re looking for an individual to join our team to continue this traction and invite applications from candidates with:


  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • PMP or related designation is a benefit but not required
  • Registered Professional Engineer in good standing is preferred but not required
  • Minimum 7 years of industry experience in the transit, rail systems or other transportation sector contributing to urban mobility
  • Established relationships with key client organizations in the western Canadian market
  • Experience overseeing design and management of transit and urban mobility projects including Systems Engineering and Systems Integration, Rolling Stock and Transit Infrastructure
  • Well developed writing and verbal communications skills, with the ability to communicate complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Knowledge and understanding of industry project life cycle and procurement models
  • Must be familiar with relevant industry standards and design criteria
  • Ability to build and harbor good working relationships with our business partners, suppliers, contractors, and clients
  • Desire and flexibility to travel
  • Incorporates health, safety and wellbeing in all that you do
  • Ability to work in a team environment

In compliance with the B.C. Pay Transparency Act, the expected salary range is from $95,000 - $120,000.
Multiple factors such as qualifications, overall experience and position responsibilities will be used to determine the successful candidate's actual salary within the expected range.
