About Us:
The United African Canadian Women Association (UACWA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing gender equality and empowering African Canadian women and their families. We are seeking a highly skilled Project Coordinator to lead our Board Capacity and Partnership Building project, funded by Women and Gender Equality Canada (WAGE).
Job Summary:
We are looking for a results-driven Project Coordinator to support the development of a comprehensive 5-year strategic plan, board leadership development, and meaningful partnerships. The successful candidate will work closely with our Board, an external consultant, and community stakeholders to strengthen UACWA's capacity and build a strong, sustainable structure and network
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Planning: Collaborate with an external consultant to assess current board skills, identify gaps, and develop a comprehensive 5-year strategic plan.
2. Board Leadership Development: Develop and deliver board leadership training, host two board retreats, and enhance board recruitment and diversity.
3. Governance: Review and strengthen board governance structures, aligning with best practices.
4. Performance Management: Develop and implement performance management and evaluation processes.
5. Partnership Building: Foster meaningful partnerships, host external stakeholder engagement sessions, and create an environment of cultural leadership and collaboration.
Requirements:
- Experience: Proven experience in project coordination, strategic planning, and board governance.
- Skills: Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Knowledge: Understanding of gender equality, community development, and non-profit sector.
- Language: Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
