Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring our kitchen operates smoothly by preparing ingredients, assisting with meal preparation (appetizers and pasta) and maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness. Responsibilities
- Prepare and chop ingredients for cooking, including vegetables, meats, pasta and other components of meals.
- Assist in cooking and assembling dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of food items.
- Follow food safety guidelines to ensure all food is handled, stored, and prepared safely.
- Collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
- Participate in inventory management by tracking supplies and notifying management when stock is low.
- Adhere to all health regulations and company policies regarding food preparation and handling.
Experience
- Previous experience in a restaurant or kitchen setting is required; training will be provided.
- Familiarity with food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and kitchen equipment is advantageous.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is essential for maintaining a safe working environment.
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
