Smithers Home Hardware is seeking a courteous and friendly individual with plumbing, electrical and/or trades knowledge to join our lighthearted yet hardworking team. This person will have the ability to work a flexible schedule including Saturdays. Applicant will be willing to learn, have good communication skills, and work well as part of a team. Prior retail experience is an asset but training will be provided. Home Hardware offers competitive pay with proven experience. Duties and responsibilities include:
- Greet customers and help them at the checkout.
- Assist customers to locate and compare product offerings.
- Assist customers to find all items needed to complete their project.
- Process special orders for non-stock or out of stock items.
- Prepare for sales and promotions, including flyer tags, signage and displays.
- Handle stock (up to 50lbs) and quickly place in store appropriately.
- Participate in regular cycle counts and assist during annual inventory count.
- Reorder merchandise according to the store’s buying procedures.
- Maintaining a given section for tidiness, accuracy and appropriate stock levels.
