Pet Care Specialist (Tuesday–Saturday)

Position Details
Schedule: Tuesday to Saturday, 12:00 pm – 8:00 pm (Occasional flexibility to cover other AM shifts is appreciated.)
Wage: $16–$20 per hour, based on experience
Location: 56124 Range Road 241, Sturgeon County, Alberta T0A 0K4 (Please note: Reliable transportation is required.)
Key Responsibilities
Animal Care: Feed, monitor, and provide daily enrichment and socialization for dogs and cats.
Facility Maintenance: Clean kennels, indoor and outdoor runs, and common areas—including vacuuming, mopping, dishes, laundry, and yard upkeep.
Health & Safety: Administer medications, observe animal health and behavior, and document relevant notes for each pet’s profile.
Bathing & Exercise: Bathe, brush, and provide treadmill exercise for dogs as needed.
Client Service: Greet clients during check-in/check-out, answer questions in person, by phone, and via email, and provide information about our services.
Retail Support: Maintain knowledge of our pet specialty retail products and assist with inventory.
Teamwork: Support colleagues and assist with other duties as assigned to ensure smooth daily operations.
Who We’re Looking For
- You love animals, and it shows.
- You’re energetic, reliable, and genuinely care about the pets in your care.
- You don’t mind getting your hands dirty and can lift up to 40 pounds.
- You have a high school diploma (or equivalent). You’re comfortable on your feet for an 8-hour shift.
- You pay attention to the little things
- You can multitask and keep your cool in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, email, etc.).
- Flexible to cover occasional extra shifts (sick days, vacations, or holidays).
- Experience with animals or in customer service is a bonus, but not required—we’ll train the right person!
