Overview
Amhil's HR team is looking for a Payroll & Benefits Specialist to join our team and support the hourly & salary Payroll & Benefits function for our group of companies, ensuring the accurate and timely completion of payroll.
Snapshot
This is a full-time position, based onsite.
In addition to the weekly and bi-weekly payroll processing, this position is also responsible for vacation and time & attendance tracking, administration of the company pension and benefits plans, including but limited to, managing enrolments and employee eligibility, payment of monthly premiums and reconciliations.
- Support payroll processing for weekly and bi-weekly, hourly, salaried, union and non-union in ADP Workforce Now (AutoPay).
- Focus on Customer Service in responding to employee payroll & benefits questions, employment letter requests etc. in a timely manner.
- Update and maintain current and accurate information in Payroll and Time & Attendance system.
- Participate in new hire orientation for payroll, time & attendance system, overview of benefits, and company pension plan information.
- Support period (weekly, biweekly, monthly and year-end) requirements/reconciliations including T4, WSIB, etc.
- Prepares payroll reports for management and auditing purposes.
- Coordinating enrolments and employee eligibility, payment of monthly premiums and reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, relevant industry regulations, tax, and deduction laws.
- Generate reports for scheduled and ad-hoc reports such as Labour reports, headcount, overtime, attendance, hours worked and progression increments etc.
- As part of the HR team, this position travel occasionally between Amhil locations (Mississauga and Brantford).
- Create, maintain and update employee files as we move to a fully digital system.
What we're looking for

- Solid, recent experience with ADP Workforce Now (WFN), preferably AutoPay.
- Confident, solutions-oriented self-starter.
- Experienced (5+ years) payroll practitioner in a mid-sized company - Manufacturing industry strongly preferred.
- People-skills and proven ability to build relationships.
- High commitment to strong customer service.
- Highly detail-oriented,
- Ability to work collaboratively at all levels providing a prompt, courteous service to all employees
- High level of integrity and able to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong proficiency with computers, MS Office, Payroll systems.

- NPI/PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) designation.
