We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll and Accounts Payable Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing payroll accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. They will also be responsible for processing payments to our vendors and ensuring that the invoice is accurate.
Duties will include but not be limited to:
- Processing payroll for employees accurately and on time
- Maintaining and update payroll information (such as employee attendance, leave and overtime) by collecting, calculating and entering data
- Updating payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, job title changes and department/division transfers
- Assisting our Controller to prepare reports as needed
- Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
- Maintain employee and payroll confidentiality
- Provide employees with information on payroll matters, and benefit plans
- Implement efficient working procedures and coordinate, assign and review the work of directors engaged in the following duties: administering accounts payable; processing, verifying and recording financial documents and forms; administering payrolls; processing, verifying and recording insurance claims and forms; and collecting user fees and payments on overdue accounts
- Examine and verify accuracy of work and authorize routine payments, credits and other transactions
- Resolve work-related problems and prepare and submit progress and other reports
- Identify training needs and train workers in job duties and company policies
- Work with Management team to ensure that policies and procedures are current and up to date with Canadian Standards
- Reception duties as needed
Experience:
- Work experience in a similar role
- Knowledge of payroll processes including wage garnishments, pay regulations, and tax procedures
- Familiarity with accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in using payroll software such as Ceridian and Sage 300
- Excellent attention to detail and data entry skills

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $24.00-$27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
