After the successful launch of Toronto steakhouse icon, BLACK+BLUE we are expanding our West Coast hospitality with the upcoming launch of Michelin-recommend, RILEY’S FISH + STEAK TORONTO, a refined fish-and-chophouse dining experience set to open in the heart of Toronto’s bustling downtown core. Riley’swill offer a sophisticated yet inviting setting for locals, visitors, and business diners alike. Riley’s will bring together the finest offerings from Canada’s oceans, pastures, and farms in an expansive space designed for connection, celebration, and culinary excellence.
We are currently looking for a PASTRY CHEF to join our dynamic team at RILEY’S FISH+STEAK TORONTO.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:
- Responsible for creating and preparing confectionery and other pastry-based items in accordance with existing menu
- Inspect the quality of ingredients and accurately measure them for specific recipes
- Execute pastry orders as per spec and garnishing requirements
- Coordinate ordering for the department with the Executive Chef or Chef de Cuisine
- Coordinate prep lists for the department
- Ensure compliance with food handling safety regulation, health and safety workplace policies and procedures
- Coordinate group functions with Executive Chef or Chef de Cuisine
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ideal experience 4+ years of pastry cook, baker, or similar
- Completion of related pastry culinary program, is an asset
- Food Safe certification, or wiling to train
- Energetic with a passion for everything “sweet” and a positive outlook
- Creative ability in design and decorating
- Workable knowledge of kitchen equipment
- Solid understanding of standard measurements and portions
- Must be able to follow oral and written instructions
- Excellent team player and camaraderie with others
- Must have physical stamina to lift moderate amounts of weight
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, mornings and nights
