Position Overview
We’re hiring a part-time, remote Operations & Profitability Analyst to help track and evaluate financial performance across two main divisions: Landscaping Projects and Property Maintenance. This role involves a few hours per week and is ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers, has strong spreadsheet skills, and wants a low-commitment role that still makes a big impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Track labour and material costs vs revenue for landscaping projects (monthly)
- Identify which jobs were profitable or underperforming
- Compare time on-site vs billing for property maintenance clients
- Create a monthly client ranking report from most to least profitable
- Track and summarize business expenses (fuel by vehicle, insurance, phones, internet, truck payments, etc.)
- Provide monthly performance summaries to the owner
Required Skills
- Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills (formulas, formatting, and basic data visualization)
- Comfortable working independently and remotely
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills
- Previous experience with small business operations, accounting, or job costing is a bonus but not required
Compensation
- $20–$25/hour depending on experience
- Estimated 3–5 hours per week
- Flexible working hours
- Monthly check-in (either in-person or via Zoom)
- Invoicing/payment bi-weekly or monthly
