Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Masonry and Landscaping labourer to join our team. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with other team members.
Duties
- Load, unload and transport construction materials
- Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks shoring and barricades
- Mix, pour and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt
- Pave and rake asphalt
- Assist in demolishing buildings
- Clean and pile salvaged materials
- Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites
- Build patios, walkways, and other decorative installations
- Measure and cut materials to the required size
- Lay and cut bricks or other masonry units in a pattern according to the blueprint specifications using hand and power tools.
- Align structures using plumb lines, levels, and other tools.
- Planting trees, shrubs, flowers, and sod. Maintaining existing landscapes by weeding, pruning, and fertilizing
- Operating mowers and trimmers to keep lawns and gardens neat
- Operating and maintaining power mowers, tractors, snowblowers, chain saws, and other landscaping equipment
- Digging, raking, and spreading topsoil
- Loading and unloading materials, and moving them to work areas
- Cleaning up debris, maintaining tools, and keeping work areas tidy
Skills
- Proven experience as a Brick, Mason, Landscaper or similar role
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints is a plus
- Knowledge of building techniques, tools, and materials
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Punctuality and a positive work attitude are essential
- The job requires physically demanding work, including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods
- Valid Driver’s license
