About the Position
Do you love inspiring creativity in others—both kids and adults? Are you passionate about art and ready to lead fun, engaging workshops on your own? We're looking for an enthusiastic, reliable, and self-sufficient Paint/Art Instructor to join our team! This is a flexible, creative role perfect for someone who enjoys working independently, loves people, and has a flair for both teaching and making art!
Job Type: Independent Contractor OR Part-Time Term

Specific responsibilities:
- Workshop Planning & Development: Design and implement engaging workshops and activities, and host "Artisan Nights" with options like:
- Paint Night
- Birdhouse painting
- Tote bag / mug decorating
- Wine glass painting
- OR new mediums like clay, wood burning, terrariums, or wire wrapping! SLSC is open to expanding our art offerings based on the skills of our Program Instructors.
- Instruction: Lead classes and workshops, delivering high-quality instruction and encouraging participation and engagement.
- Feedback for Progression: Provide constructive feedback to support skill development.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment, adhering to all safety protocols and organizational policies.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other members of the Programs team to enhance programming and support a cohesive learning experience.
- Community Engagement: Foster relationships with participants and the community to promote program involvement and growth.
- Communication: Effectively communicate to colleagues and supervisors on issues related to programs, hazards/safety risks, and guest experiences. Use good judgment to resolve problems as they arise and facilitate necessary follow-up.
- Administration: Track and record data as required to support the administrative needs of the program (i.e., participants’ attendance, incident reporting)
- Equipment Management: Report equipment issues to supervisors as needed.
We're looking for someone who:
- Has prior experience teaching art and enjoys working with both kids and adults
- Is comfortable leading sessions solo
- Is organized and communicative when it comes to lesson planning and scheduling
- Has creative spirit and loves experimenting with new artistic ideas and mediums
- Has a genuine enthusiasm for teaching and a dedication to helping participants achieve their goals

- October 9, 2025 - Painting
- December 4, 2025 - Artisan Night (craft or painting)

- June 4, 2026 - Artisan Night (craft or painting)
- June 18, 2026 - Painting (end-of-season wrap-up)
