About the Opportunity
Strongest Families Institute (SFI) is currently seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Office Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of our in-person office space. This role is based at our Bedford, NS location and plays a key part in ensuring a welcoming, organized, and efficient environment for all employees and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble and prepare program materials for distribution.
- Receive, unpack, and organize deliveries and office supplies.
- Maintain, restock, and track office inventory.
- Organize and keep the storage room clean and safe.
- Move boxes and small equipment as needed to support office functionality.
- Provide basic clerical support, such as filing and mailing packages.
- Assist in setting up meetings and events, including meal delivery, room setup, and clean-up.
- Communicate with vendors or team members regarding supply needs and logistics.
- Assist Office Manager as required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, and move boxes or items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent walking, standing, and bending may be required throughout the workday.
- Ability to sit at a desk and use a computer for extended periods.
- Must be able to navigate storage areas and use step stools or small ladders safely.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in an office, inventory, shipping/receiving, or facilities support role is an asset.
- Organized, dependable, and comfortable working with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Proficient with basic computer tools (email, inventory systems, document handling).
