We are seeking an experienced and motivated Culinary Supervisor to oversee kitchen operations at our high-volume establishment. The ideal candidate will assist in leading the culinary team to ensure food quality, consistency, and safety standards are met while maintaining a productive and positive kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation, ensuring timeliness and consistency.
- Support and guide line cooks, prep cooks, and other kitchen staff during shifts.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and sanitation in compliance with health regulations and company policies.
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef or Sous Chef on menu planning, specials, and inventory control.
- Monitor food quality and portion control to minimize waste and maintain cost efficiency.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff to improve skills and ensure adherence to recipes and safety protocols.
- Assist with ordering, receiving, and proper storage of food and supplies.
- Handle customer concerns or special requests related to food preparation as needed.
- Ensure equipment is properly maintained and report issues for timely repair.
- High school diploma or equivalent; culinary degree not necessary
- 2+ years of experience in a professional kitchen, including 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety regulations.
- Food handler certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
- Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Tolerance for high heat, steam, and busy kitchen environments.
- High-volume kitchen in a [restaurant/hotel/resort/venue] setting with peak periods requiring fast and efficient service.
