Job Summary
The Modern Campus Coordinator is responsible for the overall administration and management of their campus. This includes financial accountability, supervision of all matters relating to students, faculty, and Campus staff. The Campus Coordinator will strive to achieve the highest possible educational standards while ensuring the provision of relevant and up-to-date instruction for the students. The campus coordinator is also responsible to perform duties as an instructor of one of the programs offered at the College.
Duties and Responsibilities
Academic
1.0 Ensure that the campus has qualified faculty to instruct the students and adhering to the MAESD
2.0 Supervise instruction on the campus as well as guiding and directing the instructors to maintain the highest standard of instruction
3.0 Ensure students are being taught in accordance with approved curriculum
4.0 Foster an environment of co-operation and co-ordination among instructional staff
5.0 Conduct performance evaluations on campus staff
6.0 Supervise the methods of student evaluation to ensure compliance with College requirements
7.0 Meet with students and prospective students upon request to discuss programs, the Colleges expectations of the student, and offer guidance to other organization or community resources
8.0 Participate in the student appeal process when required
9.0 Preserve the integrity and security of the examination system
10.0 Participate on committees relating to the educational program
Financial Accountability
11.0 Prepare product orders from vendors to be approved by head office
12.0 Balance cash and complete the batch close daily
13.0 Report financial discrepancies the Accounting Manager and President
14.0 Order product from vendors
15.0 Balance cash and complete the batch close daily
Administrative
16.0 Hire and train Hairstyling and Esthetic employees for your campus location
17.0 Review and authorize payroll for Campus staff and Faculty each pay run
18.0 Establish the class schedules, assign instructors and facilities for each program in advance
19.0 Monitor student attendance and follow College attendance management procedures
20.0 Assist with tracking student hours in accordance with college procedures
21.0 Manage the student discipline process
22.0 Maintain student files
23.0 Develop an educational plan for returning students to complete their program
24.0 Carry out appropriate disciplinary action, within college procedures, towards staff and/or students when required
25.0 Recommend students that have met program requirements for graduation to the Modern College Regional Coordinator
26.0 Participate in the organization of the graduation ceremonies
27.0 Attend graduation ceremonies
28.0 Retain updated course outlines for all programs offered at the Campus
29.0 Assist with the development of policies and procedures that are consistent with the philosophy of the organization and Ministry requirements
30.0 Implement and follow the policies and procedures established by the College
31.0 Ensure staff are notified and trained on applicable new or amended policies and procedures
32.0 Participate in meetings with staff when required
33.0 Chair faculty and/or administrative meetings when required
34.0 Participate in student orientations
35.0 Lead new hire onboarding process
Instructional
36.0 Teach students using a systematic plan that consists of lectures, demonstrations, discussion groups, interactive activities, independent and group projects
37.0 Inform students, beforehand, of the basis upon which their performance will be evaluated;
38.0 Organize and effectively use classroom and clinic time
39.0 Use instruction techniques/methods that recognize and take into account needs and learning capacities of students
40.0 Modify techniques during instruction in response to the needs of the students
41.0 Assist students in developing efficient learning skills and work habits
42.0 Ensure all course objectives and modules are taught according to the program schedules
43.0 Implement course outlines and daily breakdowns
44.0 Modify course outlines in light of the needs of the students
45.0 Establish an appropriate atmosphere in the classroom which is conducive to learning
46.0 Maintain fair, firm and consistent discipline with the students
47.0 Regularly monitor student progress and adjust courses accordingly
48.0 Perform checks and provide feedback to students performing services on mannequins and clients
49.0 Prepare teaching materials and outlines for courses
50.0 Prepare, administer and mark tests and papers to evaluate students' progress
51.0 Provide individualized tutorial or remedial instruction to students who require it
52.0 Supervise independent or group projects and hands-on training
53.0 Responsible for monitoring student product consumption and minimizing wastage
54.0 Base the evaluation of students on the guidelines established by the College
55.0 Ensure that the evaluation of students is appropriate;
56.0 Keep accurate and complete records of student performance
57.0 Ensure all evaluation records are regularly updated on the college’s electronic server;
58.0 Prepare final examinations in accordance with guidelines established on the course outline
59.0 Provide timely feedback to students regarding academic progress
Promotional
60.0 Represent the College at school-related functions and within the community
61.0 Assist the program managers with their ongoing efforts to promote our students to employers
62.0 Participate in promotional activities to increase public awareness of the College and its programs to the public and potential students
Admissions
63.0 Ensure admission and financial documentation is complete before accepting the student into the program. For all exceptions; a note must be entered into the student file and the President must be notified in writing.
OSAP
64.0 Adhere to the OSAP standards and requirements
65.0 Review and recommend changes to policies and procedures to meet OSAP standards
66.0 Liaise with academic personnel regarding OSAP-related issues while maintaining confidentiality of OSAP information
Program Development
67.0 Liaise with President regarding new programming ideas
68.0 Recommend new programs for development
69.0 Participate in curriculum development
70.0 Make recommendations to the admissions standards for campus programs
71.0 Assist with the preparation for submissions to the Ministry for new program offerings as requested.
Other
72.0 Maintain complete and accurate documentation in areas of responsibility
73.0 Prepare reports for Modern College Regional Coordinator as requested
74.0 Stay informed about changes and innovations in your field
75.0 Complete salon services on the retail sector when required
76.0 Assist with customer service at the front desk when required
77.0 Answer phone and maintain professional standards when speaking to clients and students
78.0 Respond promptly to inquiries from Head Office personnel
79.0 Ensure the secure opening and closing of the campus each day, including disarming/arming security systems, unlocking/locking classrooms, salon areas, and administrative offices.
80.0 Conduct daily walkthroughs at opening and closing to ensure the campus is clean, safe, and ready for students and staff, and that all equipment and facilities are properly shut down at the end of the day.
81.0 Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education
College Diploma in Hairstyling and/or Esthetics required. Preference will be given to candidates with a background in both Hairstyling and Esthetics.
Experience
The successful candidate should have previous experience within a salon setting and management experience. Teaching experience would be considered an asset. At least two years of industry experience is required.

Compensation
The successful candidate can expect a starting range between $22.00 - $25.00 per hour and will be eligible for Medical Benefits upon successful completion of their probationary period.
