Responsibilities:
- Greet and check-in patients in a friendly and professional manner
- Answer phone calls and direct them to the appropriate staff members
- Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar
- Verify Health Card information and collect co-pays
- Maintain patient records and update information as necessary
- Assist with billing and coding tasks
- Ensure the waiting area is clean and organized
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and visitors
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar role preferred - Knowledge of PS Suite EMR and proficient with entering information on the EMR including scanned, faxed documents, etc.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures - Ability to take patient vitals and measurements when necessary
- Proficiency in using phone systems and office equipment
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
