The Role:
Are you a patient focused professional with excellent communication skills and clinic experience?
KMH Cardiology Centres Inc. is recruiting for a full-time Medical Receptionist role for our busy practise in Toronto. This role will also provide coverage at our clinic in North York.
The Accountabilities:
The key accountabilities of the role include:
- Be the first point of contact for patients during their in-clinic experience. Greet patients and visitors as they arrive
- Meet and achieve KPI and performance goals. Utilize Tableau daily to facilitate KPI attainment.
- Optimize clinic capacity
- Ensure tasks including New bookings, Rescheduling, Cancellation, Arrivals and Upload Reports are completed in a timely manner within pre-defined KPI’s for team.
- Manage patient check-ins, departures, enquiries and phone calls. Accurately register patients by obtaining complete demographics, insurance information and consent.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments and follow ups. Facilitate in clinic patient flow by communicating patients' arrival.
- Respond to patient inquiries in a courteous and empathetic manner. Build rapport with patients by responding to inquiries and communicate next steps to patient.
- Maintain attention to detail for all medical records. Scan documents into patient charts. Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all required forms and documentation are completed per check in protocols.
- Follow best practises in confidentiality and privacy of medical information
- Maintain a clean and organized reception area
- Collaborate with internal teams to provide and gather information, enabling patient requirements to be dealt with efficiently
- Complete MRI bookings administration tasks including confirmations, chart checks and phone calls.
Required skills and experience:
- 1-year medical office experience
- Clinic experience is an asset
- Cardiology or medical imaging practise experience is an asset
- Education/diploma in medical office administration
- Demonstrated high quality, compassionate, customer centred experience
- Proven ability to work proficiently and independently in a busy fast paced environment
- Ability to establish priorities and achieve objectives with minimal supervision
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Superior telephone etiquette
- Strong understanding of medical terminology
- Proficiency in technology including MS Office and EMR systems
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to deal with sensitive information with a high degree of privacy and diplomacy
- Team orientation
- The ability to provide coverage at both locations

The Medical Reception team takes pride in our patient focused environment and works very closely with other service and clinical teams at KMH. This role has extensive face to face patient interaction.
This is a full-time role scheduled for 5 days/37.5 hours per week (Monday-Friday) during these shifts:
- 6:45 am – 2:45 pm
- 7:15 am – 3:15 pm
- 9:45 am – 5:45pm
Saturday’s are required on rotation with the team.
This role reports to the Interim Manager, MRI Administration.
