We are seeking a detail-oriented and friendly Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks in a fast-paced medical office environment. This role requires strong organizational skills, proficiency in medical terminology, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out processes.
- Manage phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and direct calls appropriately.
- Maintain accurate patient records using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations.
- Collect and verify patient information, including insurance details and medical history.
- Coordinate with healthcare providers to ensure seamless patient flow throughout the office.
- Handle administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining office supplies.
- Assist in billing processes by collecting payments and processing insurance claims when necessary.
Skills
- Strong administrative skills with experience in an office environment, preferably in a medical or dental setting.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures to effectively communicate with patients and staff.
- Proficient in using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems; experience with Epic or Dentrix is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact professionally with patients and colleagues.
- Ability to operate phone systems efficiently while managing multiple calls simultaneously.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to maintain accurate records and ensure smooth office operations.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work well under pressure in a busy environment.
