Overview:
As a marine Service Technician you will be performing service and warranty repairs on boats, motors, and/or trailers in a timely and efficient manner according to manufacturer specifications.
You will be responsible for maintaining a clean work environment, participating in training, assisting co-workers, completing jobs with efficiency and other tasks as required.
Service Technicians know a little bit about everything such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, flooring, etc. If you can do any one of these, we’ll teach you the rest!
Reports to: Service Manager
Compensation: $20-30/hr., depending on experience
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
Examine/troubleshoot and diagnose units needing repair and maintenance.
Discuss repairs and communicate additional requests with the shop foreman and service advisor.
Provide plan work procedures and labor time estimates to the service advisor and shop foreman.
Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair all mechanical and electrical problems on boats, motors and trailers.
Install accessories.
Assist customers by answering specific technical questions to help them understand how their unit operates and the work to be done (or completed).
Install hitches.
When necessary, water test unit with customers to verify work performed and/or explain how the unit works.
Remain familiar with fibreglass repairs, decal application and painting process.
Monitor repair time and update service advisor regularly.
Maintain strict adherence to dealership policies on marine care and operation.
Complete story and/or documentation for client repairs.
Attend company and factory training and keep current with factory technical bulletins.
Understand and follow federal, provincial, and local regulations (such as disposal of hazardous waste)

Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED (general equivalency diploma); or 6 months to 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Previous RV technician and forklift experience preferred and considered an asset (2-3 years preferred).
Propane License or RV1 or RV2 License required.
Journeyman preferred.
Valid driver's license and Technician Certification are desirable.
