About Us:
The Grande Lagoon (formerly Lagoon City Marina) is a rejuvenated, full-service marina located on the east shore of Lake Simcoe in Brechin, Ontario. Under new ownership and management, we’re building a fresh, high-quality experience for boaters and guests alike. We are currently hiring Marina Maintenance & Dockhand Staff to support daily operations across the property.
Job Description:
This is a hands-on, outdoor role perfect for someone who enjoys variety in their day and takes pride in keeping things running smoothly. You’ll help with everything from assisting boaters and maintaining docks to landscaping and pool care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist boaters with docking, lines, and general customer service
- Perform routine slip and dock maintenance (boards, cleats, bumpers, etc.)
- Conduct general groundskeeping: grass cutting, trimming, litter cleanup
- Serve as pool attendant: maintain cleanliness, monitor safety rules, check water clarity
- Clean washrooms and common areas as scheduled
- Support fueling operations and gas dock staff when needed
- Report maintenance issues to management
- Provide a welcoming and helpful presence around the marina
Qualifications:
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather
- Ability to perform physical work (lifting, bending, walking)
- Basic handyman/maintenance skills an asset
- Customer service experience is an asset
- Must be at least 16 years old
- PCOC, WHMIS, or Safe Pool Operator training is an asset (or willingness to obtain)
