Position Overview
The Manager, People Systems and Effectiveness is a highly motivated individual with strong leadership skills to provide technical and managerial leadership in establishing goals and priorities as part of the People Services Leadership Team. Reporting to the Director, People Systems Design and Effectiveness, this role’s primary responsibilities include serving as the Leader for our People Systems including Oracle HCM, UKG and AndGo Applications, managing and coordinating application resources and processes, and overseeing consistent technical support needs. Must have effective verbal and written communication skills, demonstrate confidence, creativity, effective organizational, project management skills, and a service orientation combined with solid technical skills.
Here’s what you will get to do:
- Lead team responsible for support of people services Oracle HCM, UKG and AndGo applications including oversight of quarterly system updates and upgrades
- Excellent leadership skills, with strong ability to coach and mentor team members
- Responsible for performance management and ongoing leadership of approximately 6 staff
- Collaborate with a range of interested parties including business and clinical, internal and external to THP, ensuring effective engagement and communication of milestones and decisions
- Collaborate with analysts, technical staff, and business owners with all phases of the system development life cycle
- Undertake sustainment activities to ensure Oracle HCM, UKG and AndGo Applications are available, well maintained, and satisfy business requirements including production and test environments
- Participate in the development of quality standards, controls and procedures and ensures that the Applications Team adhere to them
- Advise and coach team members by providing guidance on issues, and key success factors incorporating lessons learned
- Organize resources to complete application tasks on time and within budget
- Create and execute a roadmap to set the operational direction for the organization's workflows
- Manage the lifecycle of Oracle HCM, UKG and AndGo Applications, in accordance with business needs and privacy/security requirements and ensuring appropriate and fulsome testing of for upgrades, updates and system build in alignment with the IS CAB processes.
- Ensure daily operations are being monitored and executed according to defined Service Level Agreements including ticket management and escalation as required
- Collaborate with the Clinical Systems and Informatics team to address user inquiries and support training and education as required
- Liaise with staff and leadership within People Services, Workforce Management Office, Payroll Services, Information Systems and across the Hospital
- Work with the appropriate stakeholders to ensure data integrity and accuracy within the systems
- Identify areas for improvement in system and operating processes and implementing changes to optimize efficiency and effectiveness
- Identify areas of risk and provide solutions to remediate
What you need:
- Successful completion of either a University Degree or College Diploma in a Computer Science, Business, or a Health-related discipline
- Oracle HCM and UKG Applications build experience required
- Demonstrated success with leading and managing projects and resources
- Project Management (PMP) certification is an asset
- Excellent change management and transformational leadership skills, with strong ability to coach and mentor team members through change
- The ideal candidate must have prior working experience developing and implementing project plans, support tools and processes
- The ideal candidate must be an enthusiastic and creative leader with the ability to inspire and motivate people, and have a proven ability to develop and foster strong stakeholder relationships
- The ideal candidate must be successful in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment and be results-oriented
- Possess knowledge of current electronic scheduling technology, human resources information systems, project management, and software development are an asset
- Familiarity with commonly used healthcare technologies
- Demonstrated management with effective interpersonal and negotiations skills including written and verbal communications skills is required
