Material Distribution Agency (MDA) is the mail and materials management services agency for the Government of Manitoba and government-funded organizations. Our organization has been restructured to be customer focused, employing customer-focused staff, as well as setting goals to improve our product and service offerings.

Conditions of Employment:

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Satisfactory Criminal Record Check
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Forklift License
  • Must be physically able to perform the duties of this position including lifting, reaching, squatting and standing for prolonged periods of time on a cement floor.
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment
  • Must be able to lift up to 66 lbs

Qualifications:
Essential:

  • Experience working in a warehouse environment.
  • Experience working on mechanical and computerized pieces of equipment or operational knowledge of the same.
  • Demonstrated supervisory or leadership experience including training staff.
  • Experience in computer data entry and inventory procedures to ensure quality control for accuracy and effectiveneess.
  • Experience with clerical procedures and daily routine functions.
  • Efficient written communication skills in order to complete paperwork clearly and accurately.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with external and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work collaboratively with staff, colleagues and different stakeholders.
  • General knowledge of Workplace Health & Safety

Desired:
  • Experience working with Canada Post standards and or Great Plains.

Duties:
The Team Lead for the Mail Finishing area, under the direction of the Manager of Mail Services, is responsible for organizing and scheduling the daily activities associated with the Mail Finishing segment of the Material Distribution Agency (MDA). The position is responsible for activities within the Finishing area which is accountable for ensuring the day to day client demands are met which include, but are not limited to set up, operate, and maintain inserting equipment, operate, and maintain high speed folders, manually insertion, generate and/ or complete job sheets, and prepare a variety of statements of mailing, prepare addressed and unaddressed mailings for dispatch to Canada Post, work within a team environment to answer client inquiries, resolve problems, learn new techniques, train staff, and keep work area safe and organized. Provide recommendations to supervisor to improve efficiency and safety.
