We are a family owned and operated custom flooring business looking to add a new member to our Carpet Edge Finishing Department . Duties & responsibilities are as follows (training will be provided for all tasks):
- You will help guide carpet through industrial sewing machines that add binding tape or serging yarn to the edges to make area rugs
- You'll check the stitching for skips, finish the back of all corners with hot melt adhesive, roll & wrap the carpet, then store it in the completed job rack
- We are looking for a long term candidate that we can train in all aspects of our Edge Finishing Dept. This includes cutting the carpets to size, running the binding & serging machines, and making onsite templates of custom shaped stair and boat carpets
- Experience in manufacturing, warehouse, flooring and/or industrial sewing industries is an asset, but not required.
- Common sense, a strong work ethic & dependability are what is required
- Good communication skills needed to interact with internal team members effectively
- Physically fit and able to lift and move heavy loads up to approximately 65lbs (with assistance as required)
- Attention to detail to ensure accurate order fulfillment and documentation
- Able to take verbal & written instructions in English
