Position Summary

Position Title: Local Dispatcher

Location: 5355 152 Street, Surrey BC

Duration: Full-time, 8:30am - 5:00pm

Description:

The Dispatcher is responsible for supporting and monitoring all pickup and delivery appointments for orders. Your role involves assigning routes and loads to drivers, monitoring their progress, and ensuring on time deliveries while responding to unforeseen challenges such as traffic of weather disruptions. Additionally, you will maintain effective communication with drivers, customers, and other departments to streamline logistics and contribute to the efficient and reliable operation of our trucking services.

Responsibilities:

  • Enter customers' orders into the TMS (Transportation Management System)
  • Book pickup and delivery appointments for orders
  • Plan local pickup and deliveries among pool of local tractor and 5-ton drivers
  • Resolve day-to-day dispatch issues such as checking driver's status throughout the day, relaying pickup and/or delivery issues to Account Representatives
  • Arrange 3rd party carriers to cover extra loads

Requirements:

  • 1-2 year's experience an asset (transportation preferred)
  • High school diploma
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Satisfactory background and reference checks
  • Follow company rules and regulations
  • Excellent customer service skills
