Overview:
Saxe Point Public House are seeking to add a few skilled Line Cooks to join our team in Esquimalts new and exciting neighborhood gastro pub. As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for meal preparation and ensuring high-quality food service in our restaurant kitchen. Duties:
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including chopping vegetables, proteins and other food products
- Cook menu items in accordance with recipes and portion control guidelines
- Follow food safety and handling procedures to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient meal preparation
- Monitor food stock levels and communicate any shortages or discrepancies to the Executive or Sous Chefs
- Assist with the plating and presentation of dishes to ensure they meet our quality standards
- Maintain knowledge of current menu items, specials, and promotions
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures regarding food preparation, sanitation, and safety
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Line Cook or in a similar role within the food service industry is preferred
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with other kitchen staff members
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Pay: $21.50-$24.00 per hour

Education:
- Secondary School (preferred)
Experience:
- Cooking: 3 years (required)
Language:
- English (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Food Handler Certification (preferred)
- Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (preferred)
Work Location: In person
