Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a commitment to delivering high-quality dishes in a fast-paced environment. This role involves preparing ingredients, cooking meals, and ensuring that all food safety standards are met while maintaining a clean and organized kitchen.
Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and presentation standards.
- Assist in menu planning and development, contributing creative ideas for seasonal offerings.
- Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including proper storage of food items.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient service during peak hours.
- Perform food handling tasks with attention to detail, ensuring quality control at every stage of preparation.
- Participate in catering events as needed, providing excellent service and meal preparation.
- Utilize knife skills effectively for meal preparation, ensuring precision and safety in all cutting tasks.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in the food industry, particularly in fine dining or catering settings, is preferred.
- Proven culinary experience with a strong understanding of cooking techniques and food preparation methods.
- Familiarity with dietary department operations or as a dietary aide is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a busy kitchen environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also taking initiative when necessary.
