Canthook Restaurant and Lodge Banquets room is looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Cook (Line Cook / Prep Cook) to join our team.
Located in the beautiful Calabogie Mountain, our year-round resort is recognized for it's amazing views, extraordinary food and incomparable service.
Job Summary:
As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals in accordance with recipes and health and safety standards. You will work closely with other cooks and kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, cook, and plate menu items according to the restaurant’s recipes and standards.
- Ensure the quality and presentation of dishes before they reach the customer.
- Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the workstation and kitchen.
- Follow food safety regulations and proper handling of food.
- Assist with inventory control and restocking ingredients as needed.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely food preparation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
- Communicate with the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager regarding any issues or improvements.
- Follow opening and closing procedures as required.
Qualifications:
- 1–2 years of experience as a Line Cook or in a similar role preferred.
- Food Handler Certification (required or willingness to obtain).
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen safety standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $18.00-$21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 24 per week
Schedule:
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- Weekends as needed
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Calabogie, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
Experience:
- Cooking: 1 year (required)
Licence/Certification:
- Smart Serve (preferred)
