Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a strong understanding of kitchen operations. This role is essential in ensuring that our kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently, providing high-quality meals to our guests. As a Line Cook/Prep Cook, you will be responsible for preparing ingredients, cooking meals, and maintaining food safety standards in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards.
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including chopping, slicing, and measuring.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including equipment and utensils.
- Ensure proper food handling and safety practices are followed at all times.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
- Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and report any shortages to management.
- Follow all health and safety regulations related to food service and preparation.
- Help train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety protocols.
Requirements
- Previous experience in food preparation or cooking within the food industry is preferred.
- Knowledge of North American/Canadian cuisine, food safety standards.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality meal preparation.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
