Are you looking for a career that offers a future with a growing company, that has great core values, treats everyone respectfully and offers opportunities for growth? NovaWest Renovations is levelling up and is looking for a very special type of tradesman. This is a hands-on role with room to grow. If you are grounded, reliable, ambitious, and passionate about this industry. Then we want to talk to you!
Who We Are
At NovaWest Renovations, we’re not just renovating homes — we’re creating better versions of the spaces our clients live in. Founded by Jenn and Trevor, our company is rooted in curiosity, craftsmanship, and a genuine care for people. We believe in taking things apart, understanding what’s broken, and rebuilding them stronger, smarter, and more beautiful than before. And we have been finalists for awards!
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for more than someone who can swing a hammer. We’re looking for someone who:
- Takes pride in their work, no matter how big or small the task.
- Wants to grow their skills in carpentry and renovations, learning alongside an experienced team.
- Has a problem-solving mindset — you don’t just build, you think, adapt, and improve.
- Is reliable, respectful, and works well with both clients and teammates.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in residential renovation projects, including carpentry, demolition, framing, finishing, and general site tasks.
- Work closely with lead carpenters and project managers to ensure quality workmanship and smooth project flow.
- Maintain a clean and safe worksite, following all safety protocols.
- Support the team with problem-solving, planning, and execution of tasks.
- Represent NovaWest with professionalism and respect when interacting with clients and partners.
Qualifications & Skills
- 2–4 years of carpentry or construction experience (school, apprenticeship, or on-the-job).
- Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and construction techniques.
- Willingness to learn and grow — both in skill and responsibility.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to work as part of a team.
- Driver’s license and reliable transportation.
What We Offer
- Competitive wages based on experience.
- Mentorship from experienced carpenters and exposure to a wide range of renovation work.
- Opportunities for growth within the company as your skills develop.
- A respectful, supportive, and team-oriented work environment.
- The chance to be part of a company that’s truly building better versions — of homes, of work, and of ourselves.
If you are looking to become a apprentice, there will be that opportunity as well if you qualify, which could lead to red-seal designation.
