The Westin Bear Mountain Resort & Spa in Victoria is a luxurious 5-star hotel with 91 rooms, a restaurant, a bar and lounge area, a 300-person ballroom, and conference facilities. The hotel is part of the Westin brand, which falls under the Marriott umbrella. The hotel also features a state-of-the-art spa and serenity pool.
About the position
Our hotel is currently seeking a dedicated room attendant to join our highly efficient housekeeping team. As a room attendant, you will be responsible for cleaning the public and staff in a safe and timely manner while adhering to our brand standards. We are looking for an ideal candidate who possesses good physical strength and stamina to perform well under pressure. They should also have a strong desire to provide excellent service to guests and take pride in their work. While previous hotel experience is preferred, we are open to considering other relevant experience as well.
About the job
Thorough cleaning of assigned public, washrooms and staff areas within allotted time while adhering to Westin brand standards.
Replacing used towels and other bathroom amenities, such as shampoo and soap.
Supporting room attendants by assisting with the room stripping and linen supplies delivery as required.
Ensuring the laundry bags and garbage / recycling bags are removed from floors to housekeeping department and dispersed to appropriate areas.
Sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming carpets, dusting and polishing furniture.
Emptying trash containers.
Ensuring proper use of cleaning supplies and equipment.
Reporting necessary maintenance items for repair to ensure a positive guest experience.
Following all Health and Safety Guidelines.
Exceeding guest expectations by responding in a professional manner to all guest inquiries and concerns.

Qualifications
- Prior hotel experience preferred
- Proficiency in cleaning techniques
- Strong hospitality skills
- Experience in industrial cleaning or custodial work is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and a strong work ethic
