Role: Installer - Building Automation Systems (BAS)

About the role: We are currently looking for an experienced Building Automation Installer - Electrical License a Plus. You'll work independently as well as collaborate with others to train them. You will be responsible for reading engineering drawings, preparing material lists, schedules, and installing Building Automation Systems. This role requires knowledge and understanding of control systems and mechanical wiring. Your responsibilities will include ensuring project excellence with a hands-on approach to Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QAQC).
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Lead and actively participate in field installations alongside contractors, ensuring strict adherence to project plans.
- Contribute to project scope and installation designs, drawing on your experience. Review BAS project drawings to ensure alignment with mechanical drawings, specifications, scope, and field conditions.
- Efficiently manage project budgets, optimizing resource allocation for maximum efficiency.
- Provide effective oversight to field staff, actively participating in troubleshooting to ensure projects exceed quality standards.
- Develop project installation schedules and actively participating in managing timelines and staff coordination.
- Demonstrate expertise in building automation systems by performing installations, and hands-on troubleshooting.
- Design and oversee the implementation of building automation systems, including wiring and configuration.
- Ensure successful project delivery from conception to completion by overseeing every aspect of the process.
Qualifications and Education:
- College Diploma or University Degree in one of the following areas: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, with a focus in Automation.
- Licensed journeyman with relevant electrical experience in building automation or related field an asset.
- Minimum of 4 years or more field experience with a comprehensive understanding of the installation, controls and operation of Building Automated Systems.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting experience with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Applicants must possess a valid G license with a clean driving record and have access to a vehicle (required).
Preferred Skills:
- Demonstrated track record in effectively managing building automation projects.
- Comprehensive understanding of building automation systems and their components.
- Ability to design and implement automation systems, including wiring.
- Strong project management skills, including budget oversight and managing field staff.
- Exceptional organisational and time-management abilities.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
- Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office Suite - Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.

Shift and Schedule:
This role offers a in the field work environment, based in the Greater Toronto Area. Typical work week is Monday through Friday. Occasional overtime or after-hours/weekend work may be required.
