About the Role
We’re hiring a Senior Business Systems Analyst (BSA) on behalf of a new client in the payments and banking industry. This is a hybrid contract role based in Toronto, working on a high-impact initiative focused on E-transfer and Real-Time Payment APIs. The ideal candidate brings deep domain knowledge in financial services and thrives in a fast-paced, solution-oriented environment.
Project Highlights
Help deliver key initiatives involving E-transfer enhancements and Real-Time Payment API integrations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Engineering, and Compliance.
Influence design decisions and data flow strategies across digital payment systems.
Key Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end business analysis across the SDLC for real-time and E-transfer API projects.
Gather, document, and validate business and technical requirements from multiple stakeholders.
Create process flows, data mapping, API specs, and use cases to support development.
Partner closely with solution architects and developers to ensure traceability and alignment.
Facilitate testing strategy, including UAT support and post-implementation validation.
Must-Have Skills & Experience
5+ years of experience as a BSA, with a strong focus in banking or financial services.
Expertise in E-transfer systems, Real-Time Rail (RTR) or Instant Payment platforms.
Experience with API analysis, including request/response mapping, payload structure, and error handling.
Strong understanding of payment workflows, settlement processes, and security protocols.
Proven experience translating business goals into clear, actionable technical deliverables.
Nice-to-Have
Prior exposure to Interac, Payments Canada RTR, or similar systems.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements in the Canadian financial ecosystem (e.g., AML, FINTRAC).
