Position Title: Hydrovac Operator
Reports to: Utility Manager
Department: Utilities
Job Type: Full-Time
Job Location: Red Deer. Some out-of-town travel is required.
Position Summary
The Hydrovac Operator is responsible for participating in daily tasks to complete work with telecommunication and light power facility construction. The ideal candidate should also be familiar with directional drilling, hydro-vac, excavation and trenching, conduit placement, and cable pulling.
Duties and Responsibilities
Manual work to support daily project tasks
Operate small hand tools
Operate hydro-vacs truck
Completing all required paperwork
Ensuring the job site placement of the truck is safe, stable, and secure
Rigging equipment in and out of the job site
General clean-up and maintenance of units upon completion of the job
Participate in the company health and safety program
Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to perform the safe operation of a hydro-vac truck.
Work Environment
Work is completed outdoors, and there can be exposure to extreme weather in the spring and summer months. There can be exposure to dust, noise, mud, and water.
Qualifications
Valid Class 3 Driver’s License is mandatory
Standard First Aid CPR
Ground Disturbance Level II
Pre-Access A&D Test Required
Must provide a Driver's Abstract (30 days current)
Ability to work in a team environment
Must be able to work well under pressure
