ReStore Warehouse Lead
The ReStore Warehouse Lead is responsible for effective operations in the warehouse. This is a front-line position that deals directly with both corporate and individual donors, requiring someone that is professional, courteous and reliable. Reporting to the ReStore Manager, this position works closely with warehouse assistants and store volunteers. The Warehouse Lead is a physically demanding position, requiring stamina to lift and move heavy objects and to load/unload donations of furniture and building supplies daily. Donations tracking through a digital POS system for inventory and tax receipting will be a key requirement of the role as all donations are received through the warehouse.
This is a full-time position with excellent retail hours to start immediately, 37.5 hours per week on a rotating schedule, based at our store location in Gasoline Alley, Red Deer County. Our ReStore is open Monday – Saturday, 9-5 pm, closed Sundays and holidays. Must be available to work alternate Saturdays. The compensation is $22/hour. Habitat Red Deer ReStore is a retail social enterprise and environmentally conscious initiative. All store proceeds support Habitat Red Deer operations, including the building of affordable homes for low-income families. We accept donations of new and gently used merchandise from individuals and businesses, keeping thousands of tons of usable items out of landfill every year. We provide an affordable, unique shopping experience selling building materials, furniture, and home décor items and much more to the general public. Anyone can donate to and shop at our ReStore.
Duties & Responsibilities:
· Organizing and maintaining the ReStore warehouse and storage facilities.
· Working with store management and customer service colleagues to keep the sales floor organized and visually pleasing for a positive shopping experience. This may include but not limited to: cleaning/moving product, revising displays, presentation of stock, stocking of shelves, and floor configuration.
· Completing proper documentation for all donations requiring tax receipting.
· Sorting and preparing product donations to be taken onto the sales floor, including processing for pricing, barcoding and inventory through a POS system.
· Keeping the warehouse clean, organized and free of safety hazards.
· Responsible for delegating tasks and overseeing daily and weekly workload demands of warehouse staff and volunteers.
· Working with the Assistant Manager to schedule donation pick-ups and keeping the task board up to date.
· Ability to communicate positively with co-workers, volunteers, donors and customers
Ensuring adherence to proper safety protocol and procedures and reporting of all incidents.
· Operating a forklift regularly and training any staff with tickets to ensure proper and safe operation of all equipment.
· Driving the donation van for product donation pick-ups when required.
· Perform and document regular equipment and appliance inspections.
· Provide excellent customer service and other duties as needed in the store.
Qualifications:
· Minimum 2-3 years experience working in a warehouse setting, with one year in a supervisory role
· Experience in inventory management and data entry using a computerized POS or CRM system
· A strong work ethic focused on customer service and store/warehouse presence.
· Strong communication skills, with ability to engage donors and customers in a courteous and professional manner.
· Experience in supervising the work of warehouse staff and volunteers.
· Must be reliable and have an ability to work a flexible work schedule including Saturdays.
· Class 5 Driver’s License with clean driving record required.
· Mechanically inclined to assist in keeping the ReStore equipment operating effectively.
· Physically fit – able to lift and move large, heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
· Strong organizational skills and multi-tasking ability in a fast-paced environment
· Forklift certification an asset
· Must be health & safety conscious and adhere to all safety procedures.
