With a goal of providing a home for everyone, RainCity’s programs sustain relationships, strengthen communities, and make change for people experiencing homelessness, mental health, trauma, and substance use issues.

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) reports to the Director, Human Resource Business Partners, and works closely with our HR Centers of Excellence (COEs) teams to deliver strategic HR support and solutions that align with Raincity’s organizational goals. This role involves partnering with business leaders to drive HR initiatives, manage employee relations, and support talent management processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HR, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm, with 30-minute unpaid break.
Flexible working arrangements. A combination of work from home and head office.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Many forms of education and experience are valued, including volunteering, and lived experience of mental health/substance use/homelessness. Minimum education and experience include:
Required:
- A bachelor’s degree or diploma in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in working in HR at an advisor level or higher, with a focus on employee relations, talent management, and strategic HR support.
- Minimum of 8 years working in a Human Resource or a Labour Relations department.
- A thorough understanding of labour laws and regulations is necessary
- Proficiency in using computers: Microsoft 365, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and various video conferencing platforms.
- MBA or master’s degree in human resources, psychology, or a related field.
- Experience working in an HR organization with Centers of Excellence is preferred.
- Certification in Human Resources (e.g., CPHR) is an asset.
- Experience working in a non-profit organization.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey information and build relationships.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with employees and leaders.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
- Ability to identify issues, develop solutions, and implement effective strategies.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong conflict resolution skills, with the ability to mediate disputes and facilitate positive outcomes.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and across different functions.
- Resolving conflict with internal and external parties with tact and diplomacy.

- Collaborate with Raincity leaders to understand their goals and provide strategic HR support to achieve them.
- Act as a trusted advisor to management on all HR-related matters.
- Work with managers and directors to develop and implement effective organizational structures and designs that support the organization's strategic goals.
- Provides guidance on workforce planning and succession planning.
- Partner with the Learning and Development to identify training needs and deliver relevant programs.
- Support the development and implementation of training initiatives to enhance employee skills and capabilities.
- Ensure compliance with labour laws and regulations, including WorkSafeBC, BC Employment Standards, Personal Information and Privacy Act, and BC Human Rights Code.
- Ensure HR policies and procedures are effectively communicated and implemented across the organization.
- Provide guidance on policy interpretation and application.
- Lead and support change management initiatives to drive organizational effectiveness and employee engagement.
- Assist in the development and implementation of change management plans.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance employee engagement and satisfaction
- Utilize HR metrics and data to provide insights and recommendations to managers & directors.
- Monitor key HR metrics and report on trends and areas for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant labour laws and regulations, staying up to date with changes and updates.
- Provide guidance on compliance-related matters and conduct regular audits to ensure adherence.
