At Habitat for Humanity Greater Toronto Area, the HR Administrator plays a key role in supporting our people-first mission. This role ensures the smooth operation of HR processes by managing administrative tasks, maintaining employee records, assisting with recruitment and onboarding, and providing day-to-day support to staff. As part of a collaborative and purpose-driven team, the HR Administrator helps create a positive employee experience that supports our vision of building a world where everyone has a safe and decent place to live.
Job Duties
- Represent Habitat for Humanity GTA as a Brand Ambassador by modeling our values and guiding principles
- Learn, understand and participate in the Health and Safety Program
- Assist with the recruitment process, including posting job openings, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews.
- Maintain employee records and ensure all documentation is up to date.
- Support the onboarding process for new hires, including preparing orientation materials and conducting orientation sessions.
- Assist with payroll processing and benefits administration.
- Respond to employee inquiries and provide general HR support.
- Coordinate training and development programs.
- Assist with HR projects and initiatives as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Previous experience in an HR administrative role or internship is preferred.
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Knowledge of HRIS systems is an asset.
