Hiring Production Supervisor (Food industry)

We have an opening for a Production Supervisor/Assistant to support daily operations, oversee production staff, and ensure efficient use of our equipment, including abrasion peelers, dicers, conveyors, optical sorters, and onion peelers. This role requires a hands-on leader who can maintain quality standards and drive team performance.

Location: North York, ON

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in supervising a team of production workers to meet daily output goals.
• Monitor equipment performance (e.g., peelers, dicers, optical sorters) and coordinate with maintenance staff for repairs or adjustments.
• Ensure adherence to food safety standards (e.g., HACCP) and quality control processes.
• Train and mentor staff on operating procedures and safety protocols.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; a diploma or degree in Food Science, Operations Management, or a related field is an asset.
• 2-4 years of experience in a production or supervisory role, preferably in food processing.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with production and inventory systems and basic computer skills (e.g., MS Office).
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends or evenings as needed.
• Physically capable of standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Additional Duties:

• Perform other tasks as assigned by the Production Manager, such as supporting facility upkeep or assisting during peak maintenance periods.

Working Hours:

• Standard hours of work during the training period shall be from Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., inclusive of a thirty (30) minute unpaid meal break each shift.
• The candidate is also required to work on Sundays and other scheduled shifts, as operational needs dictate
