Overview
The Food Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the operations within the food processing environment. This position is responsible for ensuring that all food products are prepared, processed, and packaged according to established safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of food safety regulations and demonstrate mechanical knowledge to maintain equipment effectively.
Duties
- Supervise daily food processing operations to ensure adherence to quality and safety standards.
- Implement and enforce sanitation protocols to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Collaborate with team members to package food products efficiently while adhering to labeling requirements.
- Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on processing equipment.
- Operate forklifts safely for the movement of materials and products within the facility.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities to ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
- Train staff on proper food handling techniques, sanitation practices, and safety procedures.
- Maintain accurate records related to food processing, inventory, and equipment maintenance.
Experience
- Previous experience in the food industry or food processing is required.
- Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations is essential.
- Mechanical knowledge is preferred for maintaining and fabricating equipment as needed.
- Basic math skills are necessary for inventory management and product measurements.
- Experience operating forklifts or similar machinery is a plus.
