Working in one of our most unique Food & Beverage outlets, the Heaven’s Door Yurt, you will be responsible for the daily administration, staff supervision, opening and/or closing procedures, and ensuring exceptional service at the Heaven’s Door Yurt (HDY). You will be hands-on and step in and out of daily operations as well as provide support to other staff by providing guidance on guest issues, outlet procedures, and delegating tasks. You may also assist with the coordination, planning and organization of special events.
You Will:
- Ensure food is prepared according to HDY service and food quality standards.
- Take orders in an accurate and timely manner.
- Perform all cash handling duties (opening, cash balancing, coin orders and closing).
- Clean and stock the dining area to provide a clean and pleasant environment for our guests.
- Assist in developing, implementing and administering daily schedules as required.
- Assist with coordination, planning and organization of special events.
- Provide administrative support including inventory, ordering, stocking, and reporting.
- Maintain effective communications through restaurant, department and resort.
- Ensure all restaurant processes are carried out accurately (cash-out, closing, opening).
- Provide support to the staff through providing guidance on guest issues, restaurant procedures, delegating tasks and requesting your manager.
- Work flexible shifts with varying hours, primarily working part time between 24 to 40 hours per week, weather permitting.
You Have:
- At least 1 year of customer service and cash handling experience in a cafeteria or food service setting.
- At least 1 year of experience managing a kitchen, food preparation, and dining facilities.
- At least 1 year of experience with cash handling and administrative tasks.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Point-of-Sale (POS) systems.
- Intermediate skiing or snowboarding ability to access a mid-mountain location.
- Confidence operating a snowmobile while towing a loaded trailer.
- The flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- The physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift light objects.
- The resilience to handle brief exposure to harsh mountain weather (cold, snow, wind, rain).
- Previous supervisory experience in a resort restaurant setting (an asset).
- A valid Occupational First Aid (OFA) Level 3 certification (an asset).
