The role
Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager, the Health & Safety Administrator will be responsible for WSIB administration, insurance administration, training coordination, and various health and safety projects within the department.
Key responsibilities
WSIB Administration
- Complete and file Form 7s to WSIB for workplace injuries and illnesses
- Follow-up with employees and management team for ongoing claims
- Assist Health & Safety Manager with coordinating between employees, managers, and WSIB to facilitate return-to-work programs
- Assist Health & Safety Manager in the investigation of workplace incidents
Insurance Administration
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance provider and track progress through to resolution
- Maintain accurate records of all claims, correspondence, and settlements
- Follow up with restaurant and operations management on insurance claims
Health & Safety
- Coordinate and schedule training for First Aid, Food Safety, and Joint Health & Safety Committee Certification
- Maintain accurate training records through HRIS
- Ensure completion and compliance with JHSC requirements including meeting minutes and workplace inspections
- Other administrative duties, as required
Requirements
- Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety, Human Resources, or related field
- 1+ years of experience in a health and safety administrative role
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365
- Strong knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Act and WSIB processes
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive situations
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
