We are excited about adding to our team! RWSS is currently seeking an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join our growing team.
The successful candidate will be someone who has experience in the OHS industry as a safety consultant or advisor, is passionate about health and safety, and is interested in furthering their career in the OHS field through ongoing experience and training.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Health and Safety Advisor with RWSS, your duties and responsibilities will include the following:
- Inspect, investigate, assess, and review safety programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance
- Develop and review health and safety programs, systems, and reports for clients of varying sizes (small owner-operators to large employers), in a wide variety of industry sectors
- Conduct health and safety training and field coaching
- Ensure compliance with legislative requirements of the WorkSafeBC, Ministry of Labour, and other legal and regulatory bodies
- Perform compliance audits and implement follow-up corrective actions to ensure compliance with regulations
- Maintain working knowledge of upcoming legislative changes to proactively develop and implement procedures
- Other duties and special projects as required by RWSS and our clients
Qualifications:
- A degree, diploma, and/or certificate in Occupational Health & Safety from an accredited educational institute
- A minimum of three years of relevant work experience in health and safety
- Knowledge of applicable health and safety regulations and legislation
- Strong understanding of the construction/trades industry and environment (specifically in the electrical, utility, or civil industry)

Additional Certifications Considered An Asset:
- Construction Safety Officer (CSO)
- Valid OFA 3 Certification
- Certification as a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or actively working towards certification considered a very serious asset
Skills + Abilities:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to communicate with key stakeholders and team members with ease and competency
- Ability to build and maintain strong, collaborative client relationships
- Ability to access heights, climb ladders, work outdoors in all seasons, walk long distances, and work in tight spaces (utility corridors, mechanical rooms, etc.)
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Willingness to work some evenings and/or weekends, depending on client needs
- Class 5 Drivers License

Pay: $35.00-$45.00 per hour

- Monday to Friday
- Overtime
- Weekends as needed
