Crystal Services is a medium sized business specializing in commercial and industrial rigging & hoisting, jack & roll, specialized moving and mechanical demolition services. We are seeking a qualified individual with a background in the construction industry, whose prime focus would be to manage and oversee our Health and Safety role. This position would also be responsible for maintaining our social media presence. This position would be based out of our Indus, Alberta office (5 minutes from SE Calgary limits).
We are looking for a qualified individual who has their NCSO designation, and resides in the Greater Calgary area.
Schedule:
- Monday to Thursday based work week (flexible schedule)
- Overtime after 40 hrs.
- Some evening and weekend work required
- Schedule and hours are flexible to accommodate off hours work
Responsibilities:
- Must be a self-starter, set your schedule based you and the needs of the field
- Champion the company Health & Safety Program.
- Lead incident and near miss investigations, determine root causes, implement preventative measures, and ensure follow-up and corrective actions are taken.
- Work closely with our clients and partners in spearheading safe work procedures, JHAs and formal hazard assessments during job planning phases
- Evaluate and monitor Health & Safety policies, procedures, and protocols to meet or exceed legal requirements and industry standards.
- Experience to satisfy Avita, ISN, Comply Works, Contractor Check and Appruv
- Monitor employees and sub-contractors working onsite and ensure compliance with JHAs, FLHAs, policies and procedures – Approximately 15 hours minimum per week required on job sites.
- Completion of Site Inspection Document.
- Continuous work on the Safety Manual and Policies and Procedures
- Manage WCB injury claims management and return to work programs.
- Report to management on monthly safety analytics and metrics.
- Complete new hire orientations, coordinate site safety orientation requirements, assist with on-going in-house job training.
- Track, maintain and schedule employee out-of-hours training certifications
- Maintain inventory levels of basic and specialized PPE, including annual recertifications
- Conduct monthly Health & Safety meetings, weekly Toolbox meetings.
- Maintain existing COR certification, including internal and external audits as required
- Must work to comply current Action Plan of most recent Certification Audit
- Manage and maintain our social medial presence as required
- Assist Asset Manager with equipment inspections as required
Qualifications:
- Ideally 1-3 years of construction safety experience
- Must have NCSO
- COR Required Training (PHSM, LSE, LEG, ATP courses)
- Class 5 License with drivers abstract
- Ability to self-direct and work independently
- Working knowledge of Office Products (i.e. Adobe, Excel, Outlook and Word)
