The Guest Service Agent will be responsible for welcoming our guests and verifying all information during the check-in/check-out process. In this role, accuracy and accountability are key. The successful candidate should be focused on providing professional service and creating a memorable stay through personalized guest experiences. Job Requirements:
  • Welcome guests in a friendly, prompt and professional manner, recognizing Marriott Bonvoy Members as well as returning guests
  • Maintain an inventory of vacancies, reservations and room assignments
  • Check guests in, issue room keys, provide information on hotel services and room location
  • Ensure all customers establish credit upon check-in.
  • Promote and acknowledge guest participation in Marriott Bonvoy Rewards and provide benefits to all members
  • Answer enquiries regarding hotel services and registration by letter, by telephone and in person, provide information about services available in the community
  • Compile and check daily record sheets, guest accounts, receipts and vouchers using computerized or manual systems
  • Routinely book guest reservations for individuals and/or groups
  • Answer phones in a prompt and courteous manner
  • Present statements of charges to departing guests and receive payment
  • Take, cancel and change room reservations
  • Provide information on hotel facilities and services
  • Provide general information about points of interest in the area
  • Take action to investigate and resolve guest problems, complaints, and claims using appropriate service recovery guidelines
  • Balance cash and complete balance sheets, cash reports and related forms
  • Follow emergency and safety procedures
  • Clerical duties (i.e. faxing, filing, photocopying)
  • Answer, record and process all guest calls, messages, requests, questions or concerns
  • Accommodating general and unique guest requests
  • Handle wake-up calls
  • Work as part of a team and communicate with other departments as per hotel procedures to ensure excellent quality and service
  • Perform other duties as assigned including guest room tours, concierge services, special guest requests, etc.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
  • High school diploma
  • Computer literacy, math skills, and knowledge of word processing software
  • Guest / customer service experience

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to identify errors in records
  • Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and effectively
  • Ability to multitask
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Conflict resolution skills
  • Patience and good listening skills
  • Proven experience as a Guest Service Agent or in a similar role, preferably in the hospitality industry is considered an asset
  • Certificate or diploma in hospitality is considered an asset
