This purpose for the Grounds Worker is to aide in maintaining the resort and contract-based grounds to a high standard. This includes performing tasks such as weeding, mulching, pruning, planting, and maintaining garden beds, as well as picking litter, changing receptacles, and helping always keep the resort grounds clean and presentable. Other tasks include small projects around the properties, such as sodding, prepping, and general maintenance of BMR grounds.

WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

Performs maintenance duties on Blue Mountain Resort property and Resort affiliated properties. Work includes, but not limited to;
- Planting and preservation of trees, bushes and hedges
- Installation and care of new and existing flower beds, including weeding, planting, pruning, and mulching.
- Hand picking litter throughout contract and resort properties
- Sodding, prepping, and helping hand with various small landscape projects on these properties.
- Informs Supervisory staff of issues such as leaky or broken irrigation, or other potential problems that may arise.
- Helps in maintaining resort waste, such as changing receptacles, changing organics, and hand-picking litter.
- Operation of gas-powered tools such as hedge trimmers, weed eaters, backpack blowers, and other small garden hand tools.
- Operation of Utility vehicles and trucks, and able to operate safely and efficiently around resort guests and staff.
WHAT DO YOU NEED FROM ME?
- Valid Class "G" Driver's License
- High school or equivalent education preferred
- Experience in grounds construction, gardening, and all associated tasks preferred
- Understanding of plant ID, weed ID and garden bed maintenance an asset
- Experience with small system irrigation and gas-powered hand tools an asset
