Grounds Keeper required for Rail Yard.
Franks Railway Services, a subcontractor for the railroad, is seeking Groundskeeper/General Labour for the Summer/Fall. Full Time Days 8am-4pm or 9 am – 5 pm. Occasional weekend may be required. Some lawn maintenance knowledge and experience will be viewed favourably.
Applicants must be equipped to perform manual labour, including lifting heavy materials and equipment. Be responsible, reliable, and punctual. The successful candidate will be a team player, have confidence in themselves, their skills, and their ability to work in a team environment. Time management and the ability to work independently, when required, is an asset.
A valid driver's license and a clean criminal background check is required of the applicants.
Our Groundskeeper will be responsible for the lawn maintenance of a large area. Your main duties are cutting and maintaining the healthy growth of grass and plants. and keeping the grounds clean and well-manicured.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Cutting grass regularly
- Weed control-week whacking.
- Watering plants and lawn as needed.
- Using and maintaining landscaping equipment such as mowers, clippers, and blowers, among others
- Pick up litter on and around the grounds
FRS Rail takes safety very seriously and we provide the following PPE: hardhat, safety glasses and gloves. Employees are responsible for safety boots, and they must be above the ankle with eight holes in total.
